58 bytes of css to look great nearly everywhere

58 bytes of CSS to look great nearly everywhere

When making this website, i wanted a simple, reasonable way to make it look good on most displays. Not counting any minimization techniques, the following 58 bytes worked well for me:

main {
  max-width: 38rem;
  padding: 2rem;
  margin: auto;
}

Controversy

The topic of recipe-based frequent fresh reinstalls of macOS is a controversial issue. Some people are against reinstalling macOS, citing that they have never had an issue with Apple provided upgrade installs.

Get ClamAV running on Mac OS X (using Homebrew)

Get ClamAV running on Mac OS X (using Homebrew)

The easiest way to get the ClamAV package is using Homebrew

$ brew install clamav

Before trying to start the clamd process, you'll need a copy of the ClamAV databases.

Create a freshclam.conf file and configure as so

a simple git branching model

a simple git branching model (written in 2013)

This is a very simple git workflow. It (and variants) is in use by many people. I settled on it after using it very effectively at Athena. GitHub does something similar; Zach Holman mentioned it in this talk.

Update: Woah, thanks for all the attention. Didn't expect this simple rant to get popular.

Bash script that creates a new project and virtual host for that project. Can also be used to quickly create a new Laravel project.
#!/bin/bash
# This script creates a new project (or site) under /var/sites and creates
# new virtual host for that site. With the options a site can also
# install the latest version of Laravel directly.
# This script was originally based on the following script by @Nek from

Using jQuery noConflict mode

Enabling noConflict mode

Using a default Foundation 5 download you'll see some code like this in your index.html file:

<script src="bower_components/jquery/jquery.js"></script>
<script src="bower_components/foundation/js/foundation.min.js"></script>
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
