An exciting opportunity for an experienced software developer to join an ambitious programme reimagining how the Cambridge University Libraries will archive, preserve and provide access to its treasures for the future.
Job title: Senior Software Developer
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £36,261-£48,677

You will work in an Agile development team and collaborate with academic and non-technical stakeholders. You will be involved in a wide range of projects including implementing a new Archives Management system, building the next generation Digital Library, creating a new Search and Discovery platform and establishing new Digital Preservation capabilities.
You will be working with:
OO languages including Python, Java, Ruby, JavaScript
Frameworks such as Django & Rails
DevOps on Linux with AWS, Puppet, Ansible, Docker & Vagrant
Search engines including Elastic & SOLR
XML and JSON formats, XSLT
Databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL
Development tools including Jira & git
Automated testing practices and tools
Desirable:
Experience of working with academic research projects particularly in Digital Humanities
Exposure to/understanding of Archive Management and Digital Preservation
Knowledge of Library/Archive metadata standards such as EAD
