How to install oracle client to Ubuntu 12.04

Install SQL*Plus

  1. Download .rpm package here
    • oracle-instantclinet*-basic-*.rpm
    • oracle-instantclinet*-devel-*.rpm
    • oracle-instantclinet*-sqlplus-*.rpm
  2. Install alien (sudo apt-get install alien)
  3. Convert the rpm files and install
    • sudo alien -i oracle-instantclinet*-basic-*.rpm
  • sudo alien -i oracle-instantclinet*-devel-*.rpm

Codesign gdb on macOS

If you are getting this in gdb on macOS while trying to run a program:

Unable to find Mach task port for process-id 57573: (os/kern) failure (0x5).
 (please check gdb is codesigned - see taskgated(8))
  1. Open Keychain Access
  2. In menu, open Keychain Access > Certificate Assistant > Create a certificate
  3. Give it a name (e.g. gdbc)

Install MySQL on macOS Sierra

This procedure explains how to install MySQL using Homebrew on macOS Sierra 10.12

Install Homebrew

  • Installing Homebrew is effortless, open Terminal and enter :
    $ /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
  • Note: Homebrew will download and install Command Line Tools for Xcode 8.0 as part of the installation process.
