Easy way of doing this:

  1. Go to this Microsoft Document and copy the correct one for your edition of Windows.
  2. Open an admin command prompt and copy-paste these:
slmgr /ipk [PasteKeyHere]
slmgr /skms [ServerHere]
slgmr /ato

Agree to every message box. 3. Restart explorer via task manager or the below commands (in a non-elevated cmd):

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
start explorer.exe

Check your activation status, and you should be good to go!

Of course not. KMS server is a licensing instrument, no more. Public KMS host owners are violating the law. If your PC is not a part of the organisation, you're also violating the law.

So it's up to you. If your country don't fight piracy too strict you can do use this, but know the risks.

You can use fully legal variant with evaluation versions of operating systems. You have 180 days of legal work and, as I remember, free prolongations of that period for next 3 years. And you can change hardware in three years, or just save some money to buy a license, which seems really cheap nowadays.

tbh, if they really wanted to patch this up, it wouldnt be hard, and stating that this is "illegal" is a strech, as long you aint doing that in an company, you will be fine

And one last thing i wish I knew it before rather then using those temp methods to remove watermark

Concerning the questions if it is legal: It depends. Microsoft only wants you to have a valid license if you use their products. If the online activation is not working (e.g. because you activated a license too quick behind each other) but you have a valid license it would be okay. If you don't have a license of course it is not.

As already mentioned: It would be easily possible for Microsoft to fix this but they don't, so I think Microsoft does not prioritize on this thing and they live with it. Also as Microsoft is operating GitHub they would already have removed any suggestion on this topic if the really would like to prevent it.
